Ford EcoBoost Brake Vacuum Pump 2.0L for Ford, Lincoln & Land Rover (LR047384)

Turbocharged engines don't make much vacuum at the intake, so the 2.0L EcoBoost uses a separate pump to feed the brake booster. When that Ford EcoBoost brake vacuum pump wears out, the pedal gets hard, you hear a ticking or squealing from the pump, and some cars throw a brake warning. This is a replacement pump for the 2.0L EcoBoost in Ford, Lincoln, Land Rover and Jaguar models.

How the pump works with the booster

The pump pulls vacuum for the brake booster, and the booster uses that vacuum to multiply your foot pressure. Wikipedia explains the vacuum servo idea well. If the booster itself has failed, the pump won't fix it, so check for a vacuum leak at the booster hose first.
