Toyota Tacoma Brake Master Cylinder 2001-2004, 0.813 in Bore, with Reservoir (M630118)

A soft or sinking brake pedal on a 2001-2004 Tacoma often points to a worn master cylinder. This Toyota Tacoma brake master cylinder is a direct replacement for the original, with the reservoir and level sensor already fitted, so it bolts on without moving parts across from the old unit.

Part numbers and fit

Fits the Toyota Tacoma 2001-2004. Cross references: M630118, 390824, 4720104060, MC390824, F141596. Compare these with the number on your old master cylinder before ordering.

Before you fit it

Bench bleed the new Tacoma master cylinder before it goes on the truck. It takes ten minutes and saves a lot of pedal pumping later. Then bleed all four wheels, starting with the one furthest from the master cylinder. Wikipedia has a short explainer on how a brake master cylinder works if you are new to the job. If you are not comfortable working on brakes, let a mechanic fit it.
