Ford 4.0L V6 Starter Motor for Explorer, Sport Trac, Ranger, Mustang, 12V PMGR

This Ford 4.0L starter motor is a 12 volt PMGR (permanent magnet gear reduction) starter for Ford's 4.0 litre V6, the 245 cubic inch engine. It covers many years of the Explorer and Explorer Sport Trac, the Ranger, the 2005-2010 Mustang V6, the Mazda B4000 and the Mercury Mountaineer. If your vehicle clicks without cranking or cranks slowly with a good battery, the starter is the usual suspect.

Ford changed starters mid-year on some models, so check the production date notes and the OE number on your old starter.

Before replacing
