Installing This Kit

This is a solid weekend job if you're comfortable with basic suspension work, or a quick one for any shop. A few tips that make it easier:

• Soak every bolt in penetrating oil the night before, especially on an older Santa Fe that's seen winter roads.
• Use a proper ball joint separator or tie rod puller instead of hammering on the knuckle.
• Count the turns when you remove the outer tie rods so you get close on toe before the alignment.
• Tighten the control arm bushing bolts with the suspension at ride height, not with the wheel hanging. This keeps the new bushings from being twisted and tearing early.
• Get a wheel alignment when you're done. Every time.
