On a road car driven at legal speeds, most bolt-on spoilers and body kit pieces are mainly about appearance. They make the car look lower, wider or sportier, and they can tidy up the lines of a plain bumper. A rear spoiler disrupts the airflow coming off the roof and boot, which can reduce lift at the rear. Below about 15 degrees C (60 F) the tape does not bond well, so use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the panel and the tape.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eUse adhesion promoter on the paint where the tape will sit if the kit includes it.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePeel the backing a little at a time, press firmly along the whole length and hold for a minute.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDo not wash the car or drive at high speed for 24 to 72 hours while the adhesive cures.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ol\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eBolt-on and clip-on parts\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSide skirts, diffusers and front lips often use a mix of screws into existing holes, clips and tape. Diffusers usually fit into the factory bumper lower edge. Side skirts may need small holes in the underside of the sill, which are not visible once fitted. Follow the instructions and test-fit before drilling anything.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eFender flare moulding\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Cherokee flare clips into the factory mounting points in the wheel arch. Remove any broken clips from the body first, line up the flare and press it in.
